NDF Fellows Application
The National Debate Forum is the largest public forum camp in the country. In fact, it’s larger than most tournaments in this country. As NDF grows, so does our team, and we’re excited to open a new opportunity to join the Summit Debate family this year — the NDF Fellows. While NDF Fellows are not assigned to lead a lab or serve in an instructional role, they absolutely vital to the day-to-day operations that make us the #CampThatWins.
NDF Fellows will be expected to:
Perform Resident Assistant duties including, but not limited to:
Enhance the quality of life and community experience for our students
Ensure that students follow all University and camp safety and housing policies
Other tasks as determined by camp and dorm directors
Judge practice debates and camp tournament debates; provide well-written feedback for students and the lab leaders.
Assist with camp operations in the administrative office including but not limited to:
Assist students and faculty with printing/supply needs
Retrieving and sorting mail
Other tasks as determined by camp directors
Facilitate and supervise a guided excursion for students on the mid-camp "free day"
Other duties as assigned by camp administrators
NDF Fellows must be high school graduates (or its equivalent) and have previous experience in Public Forum Debate.
This position includes a stipend of $1,000 for the Boston and San Jose Sessions and $700 for the Des Moines Session. You are responsible for your own transportation, but room/board and provided at the institute.
Thank you for your interest. A camp administrator will get back to you shortly. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Jenny Cook at firstname.lastname@example.org. Summit Debate expects to fill these positions by May 15, 2019.
