July 7 - July 21, 2018
Residential - $2,900
Commuter - $1,600
Summit Debate gets access to the best facilities that Emerson College has to offer! To accommodate our low student to staff ratio, we have a number of classrooms to compliment our larger lecture spaces. Students will walk to buildings that are close to the Residence Hall. Buildings such as Walker, Tufte, U-Bank, Ansin, and Paramount will be used.
Students reside in the Piano Row Residence Hall at Emerson College. Students share a double-bed room with another attendee and are placed into suites that hold 4 to 8 students. The air-conditioned rooms have a common area, private bathroom, and private shower. Emerson College provides students with a linen package, which includes a pillow, pillowcase, sheets, towel, washcloth, and blanket. There is a linen exchange that occurs mid-camp where students can get fresh linens. Students are issued an Emerson College badge that grants them access to the facilities we use. There are two security guards stationed in the Piano Row dorm at all times with assistance from Emerson College summer conference staff. Summit Debate provides its own residential life staff dedicated to the supervision and health and wellness of students. Summit Debate provides additional residential life supervision in the evening.
Students who are residents will be provided three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) at the brand new, state of the art Emerson Dining Hall. The dining facility is sensitive to common dietary needs. During every meal there will be vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. Additionally, students with less common dietary restrictions can specify their needs, which will be communicated with the cooking staff. The Dining Hall is adjacent to the Piano Row Residence Hall. Commuter students are responsible for their own meals, but may purchase them at the same dining facility residents eat. There is a food court and many local eateries within one block of campus that students may checkout to visit.
