Greetings!
      The 2008 session of the National Debate Forum-Public Forum, Extemp Lab, Lyceum and InterProd is just around the corner!  As you are preparing for your institute experience we wanted to thank you for joining us this summer and for patiently awaiting emails and invoice updates.  Your health and travel forms are currently linked on the website (see below), please print out and mail them to us by June 15th.  Also, Summit Debate will provide transportation from the Boston Logan International Airport to Emerson College on July 19^th starting at 8am in the morning and concluding at 5pm in the evening. If you are traveling before or after these times, you will be responsible for arranging your own transportation to Emerson College, to the Piano Row dorm.  You can take a taxi from the airport to the dorm for about $30 each way.  If you are arriving by train to South Station or Back Bay Train Stations, you will be responsible for taking either a subway to the Boylston stop or a taxi (for around $6) to Emerson College.  If you are arriving by car, please be advised that there is limited parking in lots surrounding Emerson, and an active loading area in front of the dorm on Boylston Street.  You will not be able to park your car even for two minutes on the street, or you may be ticketed.  You should drop off luggage quickly, secure parking and then return for registration.  There will be no student parking available for participants.
      Please check your email frequently for schedule updates, event notices and announcements.  Additionally, email us with any questions that you might have about your event.  Some events will have special assignments or may request you to fill out a survey before you arrive.  These requests will come directly from your event leader.  Your cooperation and participation will help us give you a better institute experience.
      If you are requesting an airport shuttle, please be advised that we will meet you in at baggage.  A faculty member from our staff will be holding a Summit Debate sign in the baggage area, so please do not leave this area.  We will be picking up several students on arrival days, so please wait in the baggage area for us.  If your flight is delayed for any reason, please call Summit Debate at 954-882-3968 and we will adjust your shuttle pick up time.  On departure day, you will be at the airport two hours before your flight is scheduled to depart. 
    If you are driving to institute, please arrive before the close of registration (5pm) on July 19th, or notify Summit Debate if you will be arriving later. If you will be commuting, you should plan to be dropped off at the Piano Row residential hall by 8:30am each morning and picked up there each evening at 9pm. 
      Students will be finished on Friday evening of August 1st around 10:00pm, however airport shuttles and dorm check out occurring on Saturday morning, August 2nd.  All students will need to be checked out of the dorm by noon on August 2nd.  Please make flight arrangements for Saturday morning or early Saturday afternoon on the 2nd, to avoid long waiting periods at the airport. Our last shuttle will leave to the airport at 11:30am.
      We are hoping that registration will be a smooth and efficient process, so please turn in all your forms and payments by June 15^th to help meet that goal.
