Maeshal debated for four years at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. He has twice qualified to the Tournament of Champions. Maeshal has advanced to outrounds at national tournaments such as Greenhill, St. Mark’s, the Iowa Caucus (quarters), Apple Valley (semis), Glenbrooks, Ohio Valley (finals), Dowling (finals), Emory, and Berkeley. He is the two-time champion of Westside. Maeshal has participated in prestigious round robins such as MBA (5th place), Vassar, Dowling (semifinalist), Greenhill, and Iowa (quarterfinalist). He has received speaker awards at Emory (3rd speaker, twice), Dowling (1st), the Dowling Round Robin (1st), Westside (3rd), and the Iowa Caucus (3rd). In addition to his national circuit success, Maeshal is a two-time state champion and a 4th place finisher at the 2007 NFL Nationals.
